I never really had a book that was my absolute favorite. But the past two years have been filled with many great reads.
In no particular order:
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
I first read this book as an audiobook and it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I couldn’t stop listening. I loved it so much that I bought the audiobook on Audible, the hard copy, and an ebook. I also plan to get the tshirt to wear to the movie premiere in March. This is how much I love this book. It was probably the first ultimate favorite on my list.
This was a book that i could not put down. My poor husband felt quite neglected during this read. It’s a beautiful story of magic, fun, and love. I really cannot begin to describe how beautiful it is.
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Most fairytale retellings don’t capture my attention very well. But this one had me hooked. We all know the story of Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, and the Red Queen. But has someone every thought about why the Red Queen was so hateful? Meyer reinvents the story of the Red Queen and it is amazing.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
To be honest, I have a hard time explaining why this is a favorite. I never had to read it in school, so I read it myself and really enjoyed it. It’s an easy read. A simple story of a little girl and a summer in the south.
They Did it With Love by Kate Morgenroth
This is probably a little less known book. It’s a mystery that I enjoyed, but it was the twist at the end that really landed this on my favorites list. It was my first mind-blowing twist and it was very affective.
Paper Towns by John Green
This. Book. It’s hilarious, it’s deep, it’s everything you want in a young adult novel. I laughed and cried through out this whole book. And it’s so quotable!
4321 by Ernest Cline
4321 is my 2017 add to my favorites list. It’s a book that really makes you think about the decisions you make and how it affects not only your future, but others around you. I will definitely be adding this book to my to shelf.
