“It is so hard to leave—until you leave. And then it is the easiest goddamned thing in the world.”
This quote comes from Paper Towns by John Green. I thought it was a nice sentence and was sure there was some meaning behind it. I didn’t think much of it.
Fast forward a few years later, and I understand exactly what this means. Two years ago, I left. It was so hard and I struggled with it for weeks, I knew it was probably inevitable but still I worried. Once I left, everything fell into place.
Of course there are consequences from that decision. Both good and bad. And I’m still living with those consequence, heart wrenching and joyous. And it’s something I will continue to deal with.
