Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I Liked in Non-Favorite Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.  Every week, I list ten answers that correlate to the topic question.  This week’s topic is centered around characters I like in non-favorite books.

  1. Iko – Cinder by Marissa Meyer (the little robot)
  2. Night- Bone Gap by Laura Ruby (the horse)
  3. Juliet – The Love Interest by Carl Dietrich (the strong, brilliant, independent woman!)
  4. Annie – The Circle by Dave Eggers (not so much in the beginning, but she was great in the end)
  5. Tess – Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler (the overall character I just really enjoyed, though the book was a bit of a drag)
  6. Cece – The After Party by Anton DiSclafini (did so much for her best friend, though it was almost sickening)
  7. Mrs Ali – Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson (amusing character for a book that was boring)
  8. Evie Boyd – The Girls by Emma Cline (this book taught me not to have high expectations for hyped books)
  9. All the characters in The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared (so ridiculous it had me laughing the whole time!)
  10. Gonzo – Going Bovine by Libba Bray (the gnome is awesome!)
