Morning Pages

IMG_2381While mindless listening to YouTube videos at work, I stumbled across a really cool channel called Lavendaire. I instantly fell in love. Anything that is self-help to success, goal setting, being productive is something that really pulls me in. Do I actually apply these things and have my life all together? Come on, I’m not Wonder Woman.

But this channel is full of some many little gems. My first video that I watched as on different types of journaling. I am a journaler, have been since elementary. I’ve heard a lot of people online talking about morning pages and I thought I would give it a try. And I loved it.

Morning pages is essentially writing 3 pages of thoughts. Don’t think about what you are writing. Just write whatever comes to mind. It helps to clear the mind of excess clutter so you can have a clear head going into your day. This helped me a lot. I just used an empty composition notebook that has been on myself for approximately 5 years.

I keep my bullet journal on my desk and in my bag all time. If I don’t write something down, I will forget it. And I end up finding myself thinking about whatever it is all day. So I write down to forget and come back to it later.

Morning pages does really well for me. I can’t get a lot accomplished in the morning unfortunately (work starts at 6:30am for me). But I find that doing ‘afternoon pages’ or ‘evening pages’ has the same affect. To clear my head and move on.
